SMG Celebrates Its 10th Anniversary in Annapolis
Team SMG convened in Annapolis to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the company founded by Fred Stringfellow, CAE. Colleagues from around the country flew in to meet, network, and have some fun in Annapolis (America’s sailing capital). The event that coincided with the U.S. Naval Academy’s annual commissioning ceremony delivered an added bonus with a flyover from the U. S. Navy’s Blue Angels!
“This was a very special time together. The connections made at this long overdue, in-person gathering were tremendous, and TeamSMG is stronger than ever!”
-- Fred Stringfellow, CAE, CEO and President
“I think that SMG Culture is unique. It provides flexibility to the staff. Everyone respects one another. It’s a friendly work environment.”
-- Shawn Christian-Hicks, SMG HR & Recruitment Associate
“Inclusive! We’ve become so much more diverse in every way through the growth we have seen over these 10 years and everyone is embraced for what they bring to the team!”
-- Kathy DeMarco, CAE,SMG Senior Account Executive
"I liked the openness and transparency of staff talking about challenges SMG has encountered with their clients and events. To me, this creates a supportive environment, as other staff can offer resources, it creates trust that leaders will speak up about what is not working or going well, which then creates an opportunity to resolve/redirect the situation at an early stage.”
-- Rosa Gutierrez, SMG Associate Director
“I felt a sense of camaraderie at this event. Collaborating as a group to come up with ideas to improve processes was effective. The activity linking everyone together emphasized to me the strength of SMG united as one team. Also, the people of SMG are motivated to do their best to meet the needs of clients. I believe this comes from a positive work environment and working together as a team to accomplish goals we set out to achieve.”
-- Barb Signorelli, SMG Senior Staff Accountant
